Questions

Frequently asked questions

What happens at my first visit?

A talk, a seated exam of the upper neck and a review of what your doctor found. A correction is made only if your doctor finds a reason for one and you agree.

Is upper cervical care safe?

Every kind of care has risks. Soreness after a correction is common and usually short. Rare serious problems have been reported after neck adjustments, so your doctor explains the risks before any neck adjustment, and you can say no to any step. If you have a sudden severe headache or neck pain, new weakness or numbness, chest pain, or loss of bladder or bowel control, call 911 or see a physician first.

Will a correction hurt?

Most people feel little or nothing, and some feel sore afterward. The correction is light, and your doctor stops when you ask.

How many visits will I need?

Your doctor sets a plan after the exam and changes it as you go. We do not promise a number of visits.

Do you take my insurance?

We bill many plans for the parts of a visit a plan covers. How fees work explains what we bill and how to check your plan.

What if I do not use insurance?

You pay at the visit and can ask for an itemized receipt. You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate; ask us and we give it in writing.

Do I need imaging?

Only when it is medically necessary. Your doctor tells you why before it is taken.

Can I bring my child or come while pregnant?

Tell us when you book. Your doctor decides after an exam whether care fits and explains what we do. We make no claims about care during pregnancy or for children.

What if I have already seen another provider?

Bring any reports or ask them to send them. We work alongside your other providers and will say when another one should see you first.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please call us as early as you can if you cannot come, so another patient can use the time. We tell you the practice's policy before your first visit.
